This course is suitable for staff who need to be trained in Emergency First Aid at Work to comply with the HSE legislation. Companies with low risk environments employing more than 25 staff should have at least 1 trained first aider. Businesses who work with the general public could also benefit from having a trained first aider, such as holistic therapists, yoga/pilates teachers, personal trainers, coaches and counsellors.

On this 1 day highly interactive course, you will learn:

Role & responsibilities of the first aider
Recording of incidents
Use of available equipment
Primary assessment of a casualty
Unconscious casualty management (recovery position)
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Dealing with choking
Dealing with wounds and bleeding
Managing a casualty who is suffering from shock
Dealing with minor injuries (cuts, bruises, grazes, minor burns)

Assessment will be by continous observation by the trainer and a multiple choice test paper.

Certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of the course.

An annual refresher is recommended.
