A fundraising event for Underdog Crew Studios in celbration of being chosen as Colchester Mayor's charity for 2025/26.

Join us at Colchester Arts Centre for the Underdog Crew Annual Showcase! Supporting Autism and ADHD through breaking down creative barriers and celebrating the brilliance within neuro diversity.

Get ready for a night of pure inspiration as our members and special guests poke a thumb in the eye of stigma and showcase another year of neure diverse creative brilliance weaved around the UK Premiere of the latest episodes of the studio's multi award winning teen drama series, 'The Slip'.

Featuring:

UK Premiere screening of 'The Slip' episodes 3 and 4.

Premiere screening of Colchester City 'Teen Voices' poetry rants.

Special guest neuro diverse motivational speakers, followed by 'I AM Foxy' mini-doc.

"SENtrepreneur' panel discussion: 'breaking stigma and getting ahead in life'.

Live vocal perfomances by:

  • Nicola 'NIX' Nugent.
  • 'Deeply Dolly'. The amazing Nicola Kelleher performing as Dolly Parton.
  • 'Marie Cole Hart' . The Soulful songird.

.. and special performance from Underdog Crew members Biba Watts and Assunta Jones.

**This event is to raise funds for 'The Underdog Crew CIC' as part of their selection as Colchester Mayor's charity for 2025.

KEY EVENT FEATURE: a 'Vegas Tombola', with some amazing prizes and experiences donated by local sponsors, including guest acting roles in 'The Slip' episode 5 and VIP on-set experiences.

'The Slip' is classified as 12A, so does include moderate language, adult themes and sensitive subjects such as drug and alcohol abuse and scenes of overdose.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

The Balkerne Hill multi storey car park is just over the bridge by the Mercury theatre, which is around 50 metres from Colchester Arts Centre.

Underdog Crew Studios (The Underdog Crew CIC) support marginalised and at-risk young people and emerging creatives through film, creative arts, music production and mentoring. With strong emphasis on SEND and young carers, we run weekly drop in sessions for our STUDIO MEMBERS, termly education projects for LOCAL SCHOOLS and life skills projects for HOME SCHOOLERS that build confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging - helping the next generation find their voice and shape a future laden with positivity and empowerment. ​

Underdog Crew Studios provides a safe and nurturing creative space for marginalised and at-risk young adults to find inspiration, motivation and a place to belong. Providing creative education, support, guidance and a route towards an empowered adulthood, laden with ambition and hope. Our mission is simple: to EMPOWER, SUPPORT, NURTURE and CHANGE LIVES!
