2013 Technocamps/CAS Wales Conference
"Supporting Computer Science for Schools in Wales"

Conference: Friday 5th July 2013, 9:30am-5:00pm
CPD: Saturday 6th July and Sunday 7th July
Swansea University
http://tccaswales13.eventbrite.com/

This third annual conference, hosted by
Technocamps and Computing At School (CAS) Wales (after hugely successful events in 2012 and 2011), will provide teachers, leadership teams, HE/FE academics, examination boards, education policymakers and industry with a forum to highlight and discuss the important issues surrounding computer science education in Wales. This year's conference is contextualised by the currently ongoing review of the ICT curriculum as part of the wider National Curriculum Review in Wales.

It will feature keynote talks from:

  • Eben Upton, Founder, Raspberry Pi Foundation
  • David Rees AM, National Assembly for Wales (Labour, Aberavon)

This year we have expanded the format: the main conference on the Friday will follow-on from the last two years by offering a forum to discuss issues around education and policy in Wales, as well as showcasing best-practice and initiatives for teaching computer science.

In addition, this year we are offering two days of low-cost/high-quality CPD for primary/secondary/FE teachers of ICT/Computing to develop subject knowledge and skills to teach computer science.
