From June 23rd – July 3rd, the Oxfordshire Science Festival will be inspiring people about the wonders of science and discovery. There will be diverse and interactive activities such as engaging science fairs, talks, debates, conversations and explorations of science through the arts. That is not to mention exciting events with well-known science celebrities such as Marcus du Sautoy, Kay Davies, Chris Lintott, Jim Baggott, astronaut Leopold Eyharts, and many others. Explore medicine in Shakespeare’s time, spend an evening with prolific board game designer Reiner Knizia, check out Oxford physicist Fran Day’s new one-women comedy show, or join Helen Arney on a ukulele journey about the elements. The Oxfordshire Science Festival is dedicated to building a nationally renowned science festival which engages people in science by offering accessible, creative, and relevant activities to the broadest possible range of people so that they will have a better understanding of how science is part of, and impacts on, their everyday life. We provide a platform for the many outstanding scientists and research organisations in Oxfordshire to connect with a diverse audience about what they do, facilitate dialogue between scientists and the public, and provide interactive science events with broad and lasting impact which will encourage increased public engagement across the region.
