About this event
Would you be happy to be contacted about research? - The Who project
Recruitment of research participants from primary care settings is notoriously challenging, although a NIHR survey conducted in 2021 indicted a positive increase in the public’s attitude to health research, since the pandemic. The way in which heath research is now delivered, has also changed. Patient-centred research, enabled by digital tools, is part of a vision set out by, ‘The Future of UK Clinical Research Delivery’. A study was conducted by Keele CTU, inviting people registered with general practices by SMS, to answer the following brief research question: “Would you be happy for [PRACTICE] to contact you about any future research studies which are relevant to your health, to improve care for patients in the NHS?”
Almost 21,000 responses were received! Please do join this seminar to find out what percentage of people indicated a willingness to be contacted by their general practice about future research studies of relevance to them!
Participation in research and collection of brief research data following an invitation via SMS will also be discussed.
Please note, you need to register for this event in order to receive an email invitation to join the session. Registrations are limited to 250 attendees and places will be offered on a first come first served basis.
This webinar will be hosted via MS Teams. You will need access to web and sound facilities in order to view this webinar.
