Islington House Brown Ln W Leeds LS12 6BD United Kingdom

Description

The skills and experience required to manage a project are common within the Forces and many look to transition into a new career in Project Management when they leave. But what does project management look like in a civilian context? What are businesses looking for in their Project Managers? What qualifications do you need to be recognised as a Project Manager?

The Officers' Association will run a workshop to explore these questions about project management in more detail.

The session will begin with an overview of project management within a business setting, including a review of relevant qualifications, provided by QA Training. A series of case studies will follow from those running projects in a wide range of sectors - presenters at past workshops have included Nationwide, Network Rail, Virgin Money and WYG.

Finally there will be a CV workshop provided by an HR team to tailor your curriculum vitae to target project management roles, review structure and content, and identify good examples of skills translation.

Feedback from previous workshops:

“The PM workshop was well organised and worthwhile. I definitely came away from the event with some useful information and direction on how to adjust my CV towards PM roles.”
