West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Bob Jones passed away unexpectedly on 1 July 2014, aged 59.
The celebration of Bob Jones' life will take place
At 1300 hours on Wednesday 23 July 2014
The event is open to everybody who wishes to attend. It will begin with a service of celebration in the Civic Hall from 1300 - 1430 hours. The family does not want people to wear black, but have asked everyone to wear something red in honour of Bob Jones.
At 1430 hours, Bob Jones' family and close friends only will leave the Civic Hall for a private funeral service.
Guests who have attended the service of celebration will be welcome to make their way through to The Wulfrun Hall, where refreshments will be served.
The family will return to the Wulfrun Hall at 1615 hours to re-join their guests.
To give the family an idea of the numbers of people expected, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone intending to be at this event will register at this site.
Off duty police officers are welcome to attend, as are operational officers who are on duty, depending on their availability. Please include your name on the regsiter if you intend to be there.
The family have asked people not to send flowers. Anybody who wishes to make a donation in memory of Bob Jones is invited to give their support to two organisations that were important to him:
Kingswood Trust and Talyllyn Railway
Kingswood is a unique environment which uses the outdoors as a natural context for children's learning. Details of how to make a donation are available here.
Bob Jones and his family have been members and supporters of the Talyllyn Railway for many years. Details of how to make a donation are available here.
