This will be a great opportunity for past, current and future volunteers to meet each other, find out more about what we’re doing and the different ways you can get involved.
We are also excited to have new trustee Jennifer Cirone delivering a training session on supporting women experiencing homelessness. Jennifer is a run leader for A Mile in Her Shoes and also works at one of our partner organisations, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to our charity and will answer any questions you have about volunteering with women who have experienced homelessness.
- 18:30 – 19:00 Welcome, refreshments and informal introductions
- 19:00 – 19:30 Presentation on supporting women who are experiencing homelessness
- 19:30 – 20:00 Panel discussion with current volunteers about their experiences leading our run groups and advice they have to offer, followed by Q&A from the floor
- 20:00 – 20:30 Socialising and informal questions
Space is limited so please sign up to attend on this Eventbrite page so we know if you're coming. We will aim to do further briefing sessions in the near future and potentially make at least one session available to view online.

A Mile in Her Shoes is a volunteer-led charity that helps women who've been homeless to find their feet through running.We encourage women who have been affected by homelessness issues to experience running as a way of exercising, socialising, boosting confidence and raising self-esteem.We create, lead and support running fitness groups for women who may be vulnerable to homelessness through a volunteer-led programme, working to identify and remove any barriers and provide all the appropriate clothing, including shoes and sports bras.
