Event Details

This course is aimed at professionals working with children and vulnerable individuals, who would like to know more about keeping those they work with safe online.

The full day training is divided into a morning and afternoon session, the afternoon is optional for those who have attended in the morning. 

Morning Session: A Practical Guide to Keeping Children Safe Online

FOR:  Anyone working with children/young people

  • Recognise how young people are using the internet
  • Identify other organisations to support children/parents/carers /professionals with internet use
  • Explain parental controls and their limitation
  • Practical strategies that help to protect children safe online

Afternoon Session : Online reputation – how to keep your employees and business safe online.

FOR:  Anyone working with children/young people

This workshop considers all aspects of online reputation and aims to support you and your staff value and protect your online professional identity.  This session will include the use of tablets and enable you to search for your own online digital footprint.

We will consider online boundaries and policies to check online behaviour of staff and gain confidence in supporting staff.

 

 

Please note that refreshments are available throughout the day, but lunch will not be provided.

Places on courses cancelled with less than two weeks notice before the course start date will not be refunded. All courses are based upon a minimum of 12 attendees. If under subscribed, Safety Net may postpone a course until the following scheduled date and move your booking accordingly.
