Join the Scottish Waterways Trust for a fun, free tour around the Falkirk Wheel.
Packed with quirky facts and fascinating stories, the tour will explore the history of the Union and Forth & Clyde Canals, and the building of the iconic Falkirk Wheel which rejoined the canals for the first time in 70 years.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours (3 miles) and includes a trip to the recently excavated historic lock flight – hidden to all but the most determined of visitors!
There will be some walking on uneven ground involved, and unfortunately our tour may not be accessible for wheelchairs or those with mobility issues.
Participants should wear sturdy boots / shoes and wear appropriate / waterproof clothing.
Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult.
The meeting point for the tour is outside the Falkirk Wheel Visitor Centre.

Scottish Waterways Trust
In a nutshell we want to create brighter futures for people, communities and wildlife across Scotland’s canals.
We use the wonderful natural, built and cultural heritage of the canal network to inspire people. Our projects help participants get active, improve their job prospects and provide opportunities for life-long learning. We are an independent charity, and need to attract, engage and involve more individual donors like you to support our work.
Every penny that you give to the Scottish Waterways Trust stays in Scotland. Text ‘POWERHOUR’ to 70800 to donate £5 or you can donate directly with Just Giving.
Your £5 could pay for materials for an activity for a small group of young people to begin to get job-ready and learn new skills.
