Event Details

Our Introduction to Coppicing is the perfect course for anyone interested in learning more about traditional woodland management and the practice of coppicing.

The day will combine discussions and practical experience. We will cover the historical background of coppice management, good practice in coppicing and showing the benefits to wildlife in well coppiced areas. Students will be shown how best use can be made of coppice materials with safe and effective use of the traditional tools involved. A tour of a coppice will demonstrate different stages of coppice work and how areas can be brought back from neglect with good practice.

The course will be led by Clive Leeke, who has run his own conservation business Hedgecraft for over 20 years.

Places are £55 per person, plus an online booking fee. The course fee includes an organic lunch and all refreshments. Maximum of ten places. For more information or to find out about the other 'Forty Hall Farm introduces...' courses, visit the Forty Hall Farm website.
