Self-publishing may seem like the easiest route to getting your manuscript into print, as well as potentially the most lucrative. But being your own publisher means being your own editor, designer, PR, distributor and marketing department too.
This comprehensive one-day course offers advice on all the finer points of self-publishing. From self-editing your manuscript to managing your costs (and projecting your profits), plus essential tips on how to promote your work, get inside knowledge from a panel of experts, including former publisher and course leader for MA Publishing at Kingston University, Dr Alison Baverstock, GETpublished.tv's Ed Peppitt, and Nick Sidwell from Guardian Books.
The masterclass will cover:
• The book marketplace
• The economics of self-publishing
• The publishing process
• Selling your book
It will be applicable to fiction and non-fiction, printed and ebooks. There will be passing mention of photobooks, but it will not be a specific or central part of the content or any session.
