A specially formed ensemble, including talented young students and graduates from the Birmingham Conservatoire, give a performance of Bach's dramatic masterpiece, the St Matthew Passion. With a small conductorless orchestra and one-voice-per-part choir, this will be an unusual, exciting and intimate account. Sung in German (translation provided).
The concert is in two halves, with an extended break for dinner. There are plenty of good restaurants and pubs nearby. First part 16:30-17:30, Second part 19:00-20:40. Doors open 16:00.
Tickets are £10/£8, and will be available at the door. There will be a retiring collection in aid of Oxjam.
