Even before laying out its series of mitzvot (commandments), the Torah introduces us to the core values which form the foundation for Jewish identity. These values ground Jews with a unique way of understanding the world and their place in it. We will explore some of the Biblical and Rabbinic texts that present these values and discuss the ways they impact Jewish culture and tradition today.
