Behaviourial Interventions: an introductions to the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) for engineering better behavioural interventions, led by Linda Collins, Pennsylvania State UniversityBehavioral interventions, for example, interventions aimed at helping people to quit using tobacco or other drugs, increase their physical activity, lose weight, or overcome depression, play an important role in public health. In this half-day workshop Linda Collins will describe an alternative framework for building and evaluating behavioral interventions. Further details

Missing data: analysis and design, led by John W. Graham, Pennsylvania State UniversityJohn Graham will present a sketch of missing data theory, including descriptions of normal-model multiple imputation (MI) and maximum likelihood methods. He will discuss attrition and nonignorable missingness, emphasizing the need for longitudinal diagnostics and for reducing the uncertainty about the missing data mechanism under attrition.
