- Lesbian and bisexual women are much more likely than either gay and bisexual men or heterosexual women to report negative experiences when accessing healthcare.
- Several large-scale studies have found that lesbian and bisexual women have an increased likelihood of long-standing health conditions.
- Rates of drinking, drug-taking and smoking are markedly higher amongst lesbian and bisexual women.
- Lesbian and bisexual women are more likely than heterosexual women to suffer mental ill-health, with prevalence particularly high amongst bisexual women.
