Our first Black Book Swap was a roaring success. We were overwhelmed not only by the huge turnout over 200 people who attended, but also by the massive number of books swapped. Our feedback survey revealed just how much you all enjoyed the event.
All the supportive and encouraging comments made us blush! Even better 96% of you wanted a follow-up event. Buoyed-up by that wonderful response we are doing it again.
Please do come and join us! And do tell your friends!
We are delighted to welcome an eclectic line up of talented authors to Black Book Swap 2,:
Dorothy Koomson the UK's most successful Black author whose latest book 'Rose Petal Beach' was published last month.
DD Armstrong an emerging talent who wrote 'Lynch’s Road', a novel set in west London that paints a gritty picture of urban life.
Courttia Newland a well established writer whose new book 'The Gospel According to Cane' will be published early next year.
Noo Sara Wiwa, author of ‘Looking for Transwonderland: Travels in Nigeria’.
As well as hearing from novelists you’ll also have the chance to learn about new non-fiction from Andrea Stuart whose family memoir 'Sugar in the Blood' was published earlier this year to considerable critical acclaim and Jenny Garrett a motivational coach who recently published 'Rocking Your Role', a how to guide for female breadwinners.
As before we’ll have a large selection of books to swap or buy so remember to bring along books that you’ve enjoyed and are willing to part with.
Organised by a collective of London based book lovers, Book Swap is open to all.
