Description
Suitable for all levels of experience including beginners.
Learn the link stitch binding technique from a practicing bookbinder at the LCBA bindery. The link stitch binding is one of the oldest styles of bookbinding and features paper covers, multiple sections and a striking exposed chain sewing at the spine.
Participants will create by hand their own link stitch-bound book, and will leave the class with the skills to make more at home using minimal equipment.
All materials will be provided, but participants may wish to bring their own decorative paper or other materials to use as a cover for their book.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, we have taken the difficult decision to put on hold our workshop programme to ensure the safety of our visitors and community.
Our workshops (bookbinding, printing, publishing, and related skills) have always been at the heart of what we do. As a small organisation this is obviously a big challenge for us but we are confident that we will weather the storm and this is the right decision for us to take at this time.
We are in the midst of transforming the studio so that it is “Covid secure,” and we hope to welcome back visitors in the not too distant future.
