BookMachine is back in New York City! If you work in publishing and live in NYC, we're pleased to say thatLaura Austin from BookMachine will be hosting our second New York shindig on 16th January.
Your first drink and nibbles will be free, courtesy of YUDU.com!
If you aren't sure what to expect, you can check out reviews of our last event in town from Elizabeth Watson (of Publishing Trendsetter), and Ellen Jacob of jacob packaged goods/bookerella.
We'll be kicking off at 6pm at The Iguana, on W 54th St, so there'll be plenty of time to mingle. Just look out for the BookMachine signs and friendly faces and you'll soon find out why:
'BookMachine is the most fun you can have in publishing with your clothes on' (according to Lisa Goll, of the London Writers' Cafe).
Who goes to BookMachine parties?
Well, a combination of people really. First of all you've got publishing professionals - designers, editors, publishers, marketeers, sales professionals. Then there's book lovers and writers. And not to forget, a few app developers, games designers and publishing students.
What do you actually do?
We've organised talks, gimmicks and contests in the past, but we've found that the best ingredients for a good party are simply a great venue, chatty people and some drinks. Don't worry if you don't know anyone - it's always a friendly crowd!
Other party details ...
You'll be able to see the list of attendees below, as folks sign up - be sure to let us know if there's anyone particular you'd like to meet; and we'll happily 'do the intros'. You can find out all about Iguana New York here.
