Brabners Charity Challenge 2017

You are invited to take part in Brabners Charity Challenge 2017 which takes place on Friday 30 June and will be based at Keswick in the Lake District.

We are inviting teams of three to six to take part in this fun challenge in support of our charity of the year for 2017.

The challenge will start with kayaking for an hour across Derwentwater before starting the cycling part of challenge. This year there will be two routes available for participants with the option to take an expert or scenic route. The final part of the challenge will include a walk of the Coledale Round.

In true Charity Challenge tradition, the day will finish at the Institute with a BBQ, drinks and the presentation of prizes.

The Charity Challenge Course

Kayaking
The first part of the challenge involves kayaking across Derwentwater Marina. Participants will cycle the short distance from the Charity Challenge HQ (Braithwaite Institute) to the Marina via Ullock. The kayaking part of the challenge will approximately involve around an hour on the water.

Cycling
Participants will then move straight on to the cycling part of the challenge. This year, there will be a choice of two routes - an expert route for the bravehearted or a shorter more 'scenic' route.

The expert route is 47km and involves 1000 metres of climbing. For more information on this route, please click here.

Walk/Run
The final part of the challenge is a walk or run (for those who have still got the energy) of the Coledale Round. The Coledale Round is a 10 mile loop starting and finishing at the Institute with 1,178 metres of climbing. It includes 5 Wainwright Mountains - Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Crag Hill, Sail and Outerside. Participants will walk the loop anti-clockwise. For more details, please click here.
