DATE: Wednesday 28th March 2018
TIME: 18:30 - 21:00
VENUE: Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Specialist Care Outpatients & Diagnostics, 77 Wimpole Street, London W1G 9RU

The Royal Brompton and Harefield Private Specialist Care is pleased to invite you to a GP educational event on cardiac risk in athletes and cardiomyopathies. This GP update follows a very popular event held for persons active in sports, including running, cycling, rowing, swimming, or sporting events such as triathlons. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the different types of cardiomyopathies, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; treatment options; genetics, lifestyle issues; and the emotional impact of the condition.

With a strong emphasis on primary care management and case study reviews, the event promises to be relevant to all. We welcome you to bring any difficult cases you may currently be dealing with and want to discuss with the speakers.

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

SPEAKERS:

“Cardiac risk in athletes”

Dr Mark Mason, consultant cardiologist at Harefield Hospital, specialising in coronary artery disease, valve disease, heart failure, and implanting pacemakers, will discuss the common symptoms and circumstances that may increase cardiac risk in athletes, both amateur and professional.

“Cardiomyopathies – GP Update”

Dr Antonis Pantazis, a leading expert consultant cardiologist in inherited heart muscle conditions (Cardiomyopathies) at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals, will discuss the most common cardiomyopathies and how to diagnose these conditions.
