What's a Jelly?
We're proud to be hosting 'Jellies' at the Ideas Hub in Chelmsford, but what are they?
A Jelly is a casual coworking event, where freelancers, home workers and people running small businesses meet-up in order to get out of their normal space, meet some new people and work together in a social environment. It all started with two New Yorker freelancers talking about a major drawback of working alone - the lack of company. They invited a group of freelancers to bring their laptops and work together in their apartment for the day. Why is it called Jelly? - That’s what they were eating at the time!
Jelly is a mixture of work, chat, comparing of ideas, passing on tips and help and maybe sometimes collaboration on the birth of a new project. It differs from normal networking as the aim here is not to find new clients or sell yourself/your business.
So whether you’re an artist, blogger, community activist, designer, developer, entrepreneur, hobbyist, start-up, writer, etc., bring along whatever you’re working on, get involved and be part of something new in Chelmsford - if only to enjoy the amazing view over Central Park!
When & Where!
Hosted at the Ideas Hub in High Chelmer, opposite the indoor market in Market Square (NOT ON MARKET ROAD, AS SHOWN ON MAP), Jellies will be hosted on the first Thursday of every month from 10.00-16.00 and they're FREE, even the tea and coffee in the co-worker's very own kitchenette.
