Event Details

The Rugby Business Network is a "not for profit" organisation who's aim is to support the networking of people in business, who also have a passion for rugby and also assist rugby players to meet and network with business people who may be able to support their career beyond their athletic career.  * Please note that The Cheltenham & Gloucester RBN is not connected with Gloucester RFC in any way.

Join us for the second Cheltenham & Gloucester Rugby Business Network event

Numbers are limited to 80 so book early to avoid disappointment (we had a sell out at the launch of the RBN in Cheltenahm & Gloucester in July so don't miss out!).

Watch the video from the last launch event here if you're undecided whether to come along and then read on!!

If you haven't attended a Rugby Business Network event elsewhere in the UK (or world for that matter) then here's what you can expect:

  • 2 Hours of informal networking with Business Owners and Senior Business People from across the region who share a passion for Rugby and are there to network and have some fun

  • The University of Gloucestershire have kindly provided us with the venue "Fullwood House" which I'm sure many of you may have already visited as it's where Gloucestershire's only professionla Rugby League team the "All Golds" run their Business Breakfast events on a regular basis.

  • A 20 min Question & Answer session with 3 keynote speakers from the world of professional rugby.

Who's on the Speaker Panel for the Q & A So far?

Typically at these events we'll aim to have some interesting speakers from the world of Rugby, some of whom have already transitioned from their atheletic career into business and some for whom the RBN is a great place to meet people like yourself.  This month is no exception and we're pleased to announce we have joining the panel:

Adam Balding – Former Glouc Captain and English International

  • Now Events Management Coordinator 2015 rugby world cup for Gloucestershire.

Adam BaldingA professional career which has spanned over 15 years accumulating well over 200 first class appearances in all competitions.

A 5 time PREMIERSHIP winner with Leicester Tigers and a 2 times back to back Heineken cup winner. A former GLOUCESTER captain and England Tourist to Argentina. Renowned for his very direct approach in his game which made him a firm favourite with the fans during his 2 year spell with Newcastle Falcons.

The next 3 seasons were a different challenge due to battling through MRSA whilst recovering from a routine ankle operation, this took his career down an uncharted path which has now seen him retire from rugby in August 2013 and take up a position as the Events Management Coordinator 2015 rugby world cup for Gloucestershire.

Will James - Current Glouc Player & Welsh International

Will JamesA Wales international rugby union player. He currently plays for Gloucester Rugby, and has also played for Pontypridd RFC and Cornish Pirates.[2] His usual position is second-row forward.

A Wales 'A' international James made his international debut for Wales in a friendly match against England at Twickenham in August 2007. He was selected for the Wales squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup held in France. On 2nd April 2013, it was announced that James had signed a one year contract extension to keep him at Gloucester until the end of the 2013-2014 season.
