Collaborative Bidding for Contracts

An awareness-raising workshop for businesses interested in learning how to collaborate to bid for contracts and developers interested in learning about how the consortium co-operative model may help them to deliver their project goals.
Participants should leave the training session with the ability to recognise opportunities where the consortium co-operative model may be able to help their business, be clear about the growth opportunities that are created as a result of consortium working and a clear understanding of the benefits of doing so as a co-operative. Attendees should also be clear about the support provided by Co-operative Development Scotland to businesses wishing to formally collaborate as a consortium.
The course will cover:
- Description and key features of the consortium co-operative business model
- The pros and cons of collaboration
- The role of consortium co-operatives in creating savings, accessing new growth opportunities and other benefits
- Membership structures
- The different models
- Legal structures and risk factors
- Case studies, scenarios
- Support provided by Co-operative Development Scotland
