Commscamp is an unconference for public sector communications people.
Now in our third year it is run by volunteers as a not-for-profit event and the agenda is shaped on the day by attendees.
Who is it for?
We say it's for people in and around local and central government, the NHS, the public sector and we don't mind if folk from the voluntary and charity sector come along too.
Communications and PR in 2015 is an ever-changing exciting, scary landscape. We'd love to see you if you want to collaborate, scheme. listen and help shape what things could look like. And eat cake.
I'm a supplier. Can I come?
Yes, there are sponsorship opportunities where you will be lauded as a King (or Queen). We restrict the ticket release to those in the sectors above.
What does the day look like?
We go along and we decide the agenda on the day. Attendees can suggest a session they want to run and collaborate on. There will be no PowerPoint.
Do I have to have been to an unconference before?
No, not at all. It's really easy to follow and there are people to show you the ropes.
Will there be cake?
There will be cake. We'd love you to bring along a cake you've baked. At a push we'll settle for Mr Kiplings Apple Pies too. But not Bakewell Tart. That's patently not a cake. Kate Bentham is in charge of the cake stall. You'd like her.
Will there be PowerPoint?
There will be no PowerPoint. Apart from a slide saying 'hello!' and the sponsors names.
Sponsors?
We'd love to talk. Drop a line to dan@comms2point0.co.uk, darren@c omms2point0.co.uk or emmais26@aol.com
Will there be a walking train from New Street and Moor Street station on the day?
There will be.
Will there be a social event the night before?
There will.
Who is it run by?
Volunteers. And a core team of Darren Caveney and Dan Slee of comms2point0 and Emma Rodgers of Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Ann Kempster is our honorary life president.
And by volunteers Kate Bentham (Official Cake Monitor), Rob McCleary, Sian Fording, Sasha Taylor, Ally Hook, Tony Moran, John Fox, Maggie May and Nigel Bishop.
