Connecting Industry & Researchers in Physics
A SEPnet networking evening for Industry (including SMEs), Physics Postgraduate Researchers and Academics
Physics postgraduate researchers (PGRs) need opportunities to meet employers to find out about career and business opportunities.
Employers, especially small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), want to engage with universities to collaborate and access the best and brightest PhD students.
Academics want to build links with industry to explore how their research can create impact.
South East Physics Network's Graduate Network (GRADnet) is organising a networking evening to facilitate greater collaboration and links between industry and physics PGRs and academics.
This event will:
help PGRs (PhDs) to network with employers from a range of physics-related industries, talk about their research and explore business ideas, placements and mentoring opportunities
enable SMEs to meet students and academics to find out about their research and explore ideas for joint working
facilitate links between academics and industry to support impact work
During the evening:
Hear from a panel of industry representatives about physicists can offer
Participate in a speed networking session;
Build ongoing relationships between industry and researchers through placements, mentoring or research collaboration;
Refreshments will be provided.
One of a series of regional GRADnet events. This event is aimed at physics PGRs and academics at all SEPnet partner institutions, SMEs and regional employers.
