Registration for Councillor Camp has now ended. If you have any queries, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Councillor Camp is a free event taking place on Saturday 12th January 2013 at Facebook’s central London offices exclusively for local politicians.
The event will be an opportunity for local councillors to share how they’re using social and digital media to engage and campaign, with a range of keynotes, panel debates and quick-fire lightning talks; as well as open space sessions – led by *you*.
We’ll be hearing from a really wide range of people, from local and national politicians with proven grass-roots experience, to the industry expertise of big-name companies like Facebook.
Councillor Camp is intended for politicians of all digital persuasions, from the long-time expert to the newly digital curious. Whatever your digital knowhow, there’s always more to learn, so running alongside the main sessions will be the Learning Zone. Open all day, the Learning Zone will be an informal space for you to drop in and get some practical help and advice - perhaps finding out how to upload a YouTube video straight from your phone, start your own blog or pick up some hints and tips on Facebook straight from the horse’s mouth.
We’ll provide you with breakfast, lunch, and hopefully (sponsorship permitting) a free tipple at the end of day. The full schedule hasn’t been finalised yet, but we’ll post it here once we have things firmed up.
Registration is free and tickets will go pretty quick, so sign up now before it’s too late. Just select the right ticket from the choice at the top of this page and click Register. If you’ve got any questions or just want to know a bit more, drop us an email to email@example.com.
And finally, if you can't make Councillor Camp, why not give us your email address and we'll let you know about similar events in the future.
The LGA are providing a limited number of travel bursaries so that local authority councillors from further afield are able to attend. Applications for this have now closed. But you can still tweet the LGA to thank them ;)
