Meet up with fellow bloggers and vloggers on 14 April to hear from key note speakers, learn about our upcoming work and share you ideas and opinions.

When: 14 April 2012

Where: Royal Over-Seas League, Over-Seas House, Park Place, St James’s Street, London. SW1A 1LR

Time: 9.30am for tea and Danish pastries, 10am start, 4pm finish.

Whether you're a You Tuber, a parenting, food, politics, fashion or travel blogger we'd love to see you. We're putting together a day packed with brilliant workshop sessions for all levels of experience.

Come and spend the day with your blogging friends, hear from our amazing key note speakers and hear about Save the Children’s latest global projects. We'll be providing lunch too.


9.30am Arrive for tea, coffee and croissants

9.55am Introduction to the day and Save the Children (Branislava Milosevic)

10.15am Compassionate storytelling through film and photography

Want to take your content to the next level? Hear from Jess Crombie, Head of Film and Photography at Save the Children for behind the scenes insight on producing film and photography for Save the Children. Jess will talk through what makes a great photo and how to adapt your photography for different environments. This will be a practical session with a focus on learning new skills, tricks and tips to create visual content with impact. There will also be a Q&A session at the end to help with any film or photography questions.

We’ll also hear from Lindsay Atkins, Save the Children ambassador who produces clips for YouTube. Lindsay will talk about her successful approach, her YouTube clips having massive reach and receiving huge amounts of interest and comment.

10.45 KEYNOTE: Measurable inspiration: lessons from successful digital campaigns

Hear Rob Blackie of Blue State Digital discuss how non-profits and political campaigns from Save the Children to Barack Obama and Amnesty have used digital campaigning to change the world. Blue State Digital are one of the world's leading digital campaigning agencies working on challenges as diverse as electing progressive leaders, lobbying governments, fundraising, supporting grassroots movements and helping people to be healthier and greener.

11.40 Build it for Babies – Bangladesh Clinics Appeal

Scott Clarkson, Save the Children, talks about our next big project - a fundraiser for clinics in Bangladesh. Eva Keogan shares her experience in Bangladesh in as part of Blogadesh.

12.10 Group workshop – How to engage the public through social channels to help support the Build it for Babies campaign

Four blogging and digital experts will give their top tips for how to engage and support Build it for Babies. This will be followed by a group activity to look at ways of using social media to inspire and raise awareness and funds for the campaign.

14:20 A Google+ session from Annie Spratt, author of loveallblogs.com and Lisa De Bonis, Strategy Partner from Work Club (Google's strategic partner)

This session will showcase the potential of the Google+ platform. Annie will demonstrate how she has used Google+ to connect, share ideas and grow engagement with her existing communities.

15.10 The impact of social media on the No Child Born to Die campaign
Hear from Save the Children about why this year’s No Child Born to Die focus is on the hidden crisis of child malnutrition and what we hope to achieve with the campaign. We’ll explain how social media has helped us get some amazing campaign wins so far, and how you can help lend your social media skills to the campaign later in the year.

Ruth Clemens (@thepinkwhisk) ‘mummy baker extraordinaire’ and  Save the Children supporter, talks about visiting Save the Children’s work in Rwanda and her experience blogging from the field. Ruth travelled to Rwanda in February 2012 to help launch Save the Children’s global campaign to end child hunger, as part of the second of our No Child Born to Die campaign. Ruth is the author of www.thepinkwhisk.co.uk blog and runner-up in BBC2’s The Great British Bake Off.
