Creating ebooks for beginners
Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (BST)
London, United Kingdom
So you have the finished, edited text for your book – now how do you turn it into something you can promote and sell online?
In this one-day Masterclass you'll learn how to take your manuscript from Word document to Kindle ebook. Working in a small class, you'll move step-by-step through each stage of the process using sample material, before working on preparing and uploading your own book at the end of the day.
You'll leave with everything you'll need to know to produce a professional-looking Kindle ebook, including handouts to remind you how each step works, and resources to find out more. This is a highly practical Masterclass, and will not cover the writing or editing of your book – it is suitable for both non-fiction and fiction writers.
A basic knowledge of using a word processor will help, but no prior experience of creating ebooks is required. Please note that we will be using Apple iMacs for this course, but for PC-users no experience of using Apple computers is necessary.
Nick Sidwell is the Digital Publishing Manager for Guardian Books. He has previously worked for independent publisher Elliott & Thompson, and Icon Books.
