Rob Turner

Associate Director - Grant Thornton 

Rob is an Associate Director and leads an economics and analytics team within GIA. This includes the delivery of the Growth Observatory – our specialist research and analytics team focused on business growth; and Place Analytics - our analytics platform focused on place making and economic development.

Since joining Grant Thornton in 2012 Rob has worked extensively with central government departments providing a wide variety of analytics and insight, helping these organisations to use evidence to both drive performance improvements and evaluate delivery. This includes leading on the Meta-Evaluation of the 2012 Olympic Games Legacy for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport; and the delivery of a detailed programme of analytics and evaluation activities in relation to Growth Accelerator and MAS for the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.

Currently Rob is leading on a flagship project for the European Commission looking at start-up ecosystems; across the EU; working for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on the delivery of the Business Growth Service; and leading on the development of the Devolution Proposition for Greater Brighton.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Rob was a consultant at SQW (2003-2012), a specialist public policy and economic development consultancy. During his time at SQW, Rob gained significant experience in programme and policy review, evaluation and impact assessment at a national, regional and local level.
