U-CREATE is an exciting new programme challenging you to work in teams to combine creativity with enterprise and launch new products and services.
Groups will be given a design brief and tasks that will turn your creative thinking into practice. Running over several weeks across London, you will:
Design – a range of products to meet the requirements of the brief
Make – if your design(s) are shortlisted then you will be given a budget to manufacture your products created
Sell – once you have your products we will provide an opportunity for you to sell them across London.
So remember: U-Design, U- Make and U-Sell
Winners will take home at least £200 each!
The design, make and sell challenge
Participants will be placed in teams and given a design brief. Over two days, they will brainstorm, research and pitch their concepts. Successful teams will get the opportunity to take their designs to the next level – manufacture and launch to market.
Feb 9th–10th Design -Two day bootcamp to take you from brief to concept. 9.30-6.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Feb 11th–March 1st Make- Commission the manufacturing of your products
Mar 2nd–3rd Sell -Two days to sell your products at selected locations across London
Mar 4th Awards evening
Open to select London universities with limited places available – places will be allocated on a first come first serve so don’t miss out.
We don't ask for a deposit so ask that if you sign up you do so with the full intention of attending the event. If at any point you think you won't be able to make it please contact firstname.lastname@example.org so the organisers can invite students on the waiting list.
You must register using your university email address and must bring id to prove you attend the university you signed up with on the day.
The centre for entrepreneurship at UCL, UCL Advances, offers training, networking and business support for staff, students and external entrepreneurs to encourage and enable new enterprises to get going. Unique in the UK Higher Education sector, its primary role is to promote a culture of entrepreneurship on campus and engagement with entrepreneurs and small businesses beyond UCL's boundaries, and currently delivers over 30 activity programmes.
