Divided Families day of action
Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM (BST)
We are now at maximum capacity for the meeting in Parliament, but please come to the Demonstration ouside the Home Office at 4pm.
On the one year anniversary of the new family migration rules, let's show the Government what we think of measures which separate couples, keep children from their parents and break apart families!
The Divided Families day of action organised by BritCits, JCWI, the Family Immigration Alliance, Migrants Rights Network and others is a must-attend for all those who are concerned about the family migration rules.
It involves two main events:
- 4pm - Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DF
Afternoon demonstration outside the Home Office with speakers and street performers - bring a banner!!
- 6pm - Parliament, Committee room 10, London SW1A 0AA
Evening meeting in Parliament. Organised by a coalition of organisations including BritCits, JCWI, the Family Immigration Alliance, Migrants Rights Network, and chaired by Baroness Ruth Lister, this meeting will bring together campaigners, supporters and parliamentarians to hear about the impacts of the new rules. The meeting will welcome valuable supporters including Maggie Atkinson, the Children's Commissioner for England, and will be a chance for families to share their stories and build the campaign for a change in the rules.
Please note, if you are not able to attend the Divided Families day of action but are holding or attending an event on this issue locally on 9th July, please let MRN know so that we can help you advertise it: firstname.lastname@example.org
