Description

Dear Friend,

Decoloniality London would like to invite you to DL Summer Sessions, a series of conversations we are hosting over the coming weeks that will improve our understanding of this Modern/Colonial world so we know how to engage with it to end it.

The topics were chosen based on contradicting and confusing meanings that came up during DL Workspaces and Reel Off film nights. We aim to map different usages and definitions of such topics and the way we speak about them so that we can understand the extent to which they assist in refining White Supremacy/Racism and Antiblackness.

These sessions were originally intended for participants of DL Workspaces but everyone is welcome.

Monday 3 August 7-10PM "Police, Policing and White People" Pickthall Academy, Camden

Wednesday 12 August 7-10PM "Race & Racism: Representation and Context of White Supremacy" The Waterlily, Stepney Green

Wednesday 19 August 7-10PM "Intersectionality" The Waterlily, Stepney Green

(To be confirmed) Wednesday 2 September 7-10PM "Mixed Raceness" at The Waterlily, Stepney Green.

All sessions will be facilitated by affiliates and members of the DL network.

Join us for these evenings. Attendance is free but booking required.

We are a London-based network committed to replacing the modern/colonial world system with justice. We aim to do this by creating both physical and intellectual spaces to facilitate the production, collation, dissemination and application of decolonial thought and praxis.

Our network is committed to forging a pluriversal future, and as such we encourage a multiplicity of approaches in our shared struggle to achieve this goal. As individuals within this network we draw upon various positions which inform our decolonial commitment.
