Description

The Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UCL are proud to announce the launch of a brand new postgraduate course.

Join us on Tuesday 17th of June to celebrate with us the launch of our UCL Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Device Innovation! Come and find out more about our training, network of supervisors and portfolio of research.

The UCL Institute of Biomedical Engineering’s Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Device Innovation will produce highly skilled medical device engineers who couple strong research expertise with the ability to take leading roles in innovation within the medical device sector. The DTP’s vision is to cultivate an interdisciplinary cohort of entrepreneurial researchers motivated to engage in responsible innovation during their graduate training and future careers.

Our students are recruited from a wide range of STEMM (science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine) backgrounds, leading to a diverse cohort that will engage in research in world-leading biomedical engineering, while receiving training in enterprise, innovation and translation skills to gain the complete package of knowledge needed to move technologies from informed concept to clinical device.

UCL’s collaborative mix of academic engineering research excellence and globally-leading hospitals with NIHR Biomedical Research Centres gives the ideal environment for aspiring Biomedical Engineers to flourish. The creation of the IBME in 2012 reinforced links across the College and Hospitals and continues to create new, and nourish established, connections. Our 80 strong supervisory team works across faculties on new technologies to transform future healthcare. The Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Device Innovation students will join them in driving this ambition forward.
