Dr Johnson's Mid-Summer Ramble - SOLD OUT
Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (BST)
Join Dr Johnson and friends on a mid-Summer murder tour from his Georgian house in Gough Square, through the secret gardens of the Temple, to the banks of the silver Thames. Led by London historian Dr Matthew Green with actors, musicians and prostitutes hidden along the way.
The route is interwoven with anecdotes from Dr Johnson's life, serendipitous encounters with his sex-crazed biographer James Boswell, beloved pet Hodge the Cat and freed slave Frank Barber, dramatised excerpts from Dr Johnson's writings, and his mournful reflections upon the modern world. All set to beautiful violin music.
The perfect start to your weekend. Free cups of the Doctor's favourite tea outside Twining's Tea Shop!
Finishing with lunch in Dr Johnson's favourite tavern, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese.
