'Ecuador's New Economic Vision: Growth, Redistribution and Sustainability'
Tuesday, 12 March 2013 from 19:00 to 20:30 (GMT)
London, United Kingdom
UCL - Institute of the Americas and the Embassy of Ecuador are pleased to invite all members of the public to this talk by Dr Fander Falconi, Ecuador's Secretary of State for Planning and Development.
Ecuador has become one of Latin America’s success stories in recent years. After two decades of economic stagnation, growing inequality and a major banking crisis, a new economic vision is transforming Ecuador. How has the Ecuadorean government achieved these successes in South America’s third poorest country? What are its future development plans? This paper will discuss Ecuador’s new economic vision and its relationship with the wider changes in Latin America.
Attendance is free of charge but registration is required.
