CONTENT:

Under Performing Employees:

  •  Under performance within the workplace: courses and impact.
  •  Increasing performance levels within your business.
  •  How to effectively performance manage your employees.
  •  What to do if the employee doesn’t improve.

Disciplinary Action:

  • Taking disciplinary Action - avoiding procedural pitfalls, ensuring consistency and handling those difficult employees.
  • Step by Step guide through the disciplinary procedure, the do's and don'ts.
  • Dismissal - dismissing an employee, the alternatives ot dismissal, and avoiding that costly tribunal  claim.

Grievances:

  • How to recognise them and how to avoid them.
  • What to do if your employee raises a grievance and how to address the allegations raised?
  • What if the grievance is against you?

 Sickness Absence

  • How to handle and prevent short term frequent absences.
  • Dealing with long term absences.
  • Getting an employee back to work.
  • When does poor health amount to a legal disability?
  • What are ‘reasonable adjustments’ and when do you have to make them?
  • When/how can you dismiss an employee for ill health reasons?

Discrimination and Harassment:

  • Who is protected from discrimination at work?
  • Identifying discrimination (and the different types) within your workplace - it’s not always as obvious as you might think!
  • Preventing and tackling discrimination in your workplace.
  • What is harassment, how to identify and prevent it.
  • What if an employee complains they are a victim of discrimination or harassment
  • What is bullying and how does bullying differ from the above?  

Resignations:

  •            When could a resignation lead to a tribunal claim?
  •           Resignation acknowledgment letters – what should they include?
  •           Ex-employees – references and restrictive covenants.
