Description

Explore Your Universe presents... Rosetta and Gaia

This will be a short and snappy introduction to the science behind the Rosetta and Gaia space missions, with a chance to put your questions to the experts, including Dr. Ross Burgon, Rosetta in the UK – National Co-ordinator, based at the Open University; Professor Gerry Gilmore, UK Gaia Principle Investigator based at the University of Cambridge; Shaaron Leverment from the British Association of Planetaria; and Dan Hillier and Jo Lewis of STFC.

Additionally, we will provide a package of resources that you can use to inspire your audiences about these missions, what they hope to achieve, and the poeple who make it all happen!

This session is being offered as part of the Explore Your Universe programme, supported by STFC, and is intended to be of primary benefit to anyone who is developing or delivering activities around the physical sciences to engage the public with contemporary research. This includes organisations that are involved in the Explore Your Universe network, members of Association for Science and Discovery Centres or the British Association of Planetaria. Others are welcome. If you have any questions, please contact us.
