‘Myself, my husband and my daughter attended Sara’s Chicken course in March and I’m so glad we did…This was a complete family affair with Sara’s husband and 2 kids being fully involved, informative and friendly to everyone who attended. My husband and I were able to ask all the questions we had and get hands on with the Chickens and Eglu, whilst the kids had an Easter egg hunt and painted egg money boxes!’ 5 Stars Fantastic! – Grace
An afternoon in the garden at Hen Corner… You will be welcomed with a warm drink and introduced to the joys of keeping chickens! We’ve been keeping chickens, here in London, since 2007 and currently have big hens in an Eglu Cube and an Eglu Go and six bantams in an Eglu Classic.
Whilst there will be treats and crafts for the children, our time together will give a good introduction to keeping chickens in an urban garden. We will look at the needs of the chickens, and their daily, weekly and monthly care. You will have the opportunity to handle a hen, ask questions and each family goes home with course notes, a certificate and a goodie bag!
- Please wrap up warm and wear suitable clothes and footwear for the garden.
- In adverse weather we will move the course into the conservatory.

‘Since moving into her West London home a few years ago, Sara Ward and her husband Andy have industriously set up Hen Corner, where they now have a stunning kitchen garden – with raised beds full of seasonal crops – fruit and nut trees, a flock of clucking hens and a beehive with busy bees hard at work making honey.’ Michele Jameson, Country Living Magazine
We are Hen Corner.
We love the bee keepers, the veggie bed diggers, the jam makers and cider drinkers, the chicken fanciers and the real bread bakers.
But not just in the deepest darkest countryside or the far, far away villages but right here in our cities and towns.
So, come on a course and join us on the journey…
