Celebrate the beauty of handmade felt by helpint to make a community art work at these FREE workshops. Come for the morning or the afternoon - if you're keen come for both!
Each year feltmakers around the world unite to make work around a central theme and display it in public on the same day - Felt United Day. This year it falls on 3 October which is also the first day af of Fun Palaces weekend. So we're having a felt making Fun Palace to create a community art work on this year's theme of "home".
Join the Craft Reactor team and members of the Kalopsia Collective for one of the workshop sessions in The Atrium in Ocean Terminal to make a section of the final work. All levels of experience welcome. We'll introduce the basics of felting for complete beginners.
As well as contributing to the community work you should have time to make a small souvenir to take home.
Please bring a towel with you and a plastic bag for taking your work and wet towel home. Dress for getting a bit messy or bring an apron.
If you are already a felt maker please bring any wool tops or roving you'd like to use or can donate to the project.

Craft Reactor Edinburgh
Craft Reactor is an Edinburgh-based not-for-profit craft collective formed in 2010. We are a bunch of crafters who have joined forces to share opportunities and resources, and support and inspire each other. We aim to promote a friendly, constructive and creative environment for the promotion of craft, and crafters, in Edinburgh.
