FREE EVENT Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants - Cambridge
Friday, 7 October 2016 from 10:00 to 13:00 (BST)
Are you making the most of Teaching Assistants?
The number of Teaching Assistants (TAs) has more than trebled since 2000, with English Schools now spending over £4billion each year on their employment. Yet research suggests they are not generally being used in ways that add significantly to pupil outcomes.
With such a substantial resource in place, how do we ensure TAs are deployed, supported and trained to fulfill their potential?
Join us at a free conference held in Cambridge that will explore the latest research on TA effectiveness and bring the evidence ‘to life’ in practical ways.
What is it about?
The conference will be based around the guidance report Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants, published by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). In addition to covering the recommendations in details, you will find out how to act on the guidance, through examples from schools adopting evidence-based approaches to TA deployment.
Who is it aimed at?
Head teachers, other members of the Senior Leadership Team and those with management or leadership responsibilities relating to the deployment of TAs.
How much does it cost?
Attendance is free
