From Poverty to Power; Duncan Green
Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
Cambridge, United Kingdom
Duncan Green is currently Oxfam GB’s Senior Strategic Adviser and has spent 25 years researching and writing about reducing poverty and combating injustice.
His book "From Poverty to Power", relaunched this October, argues for a redistribution of power and assets in order to alleviate global poverty. This idea is especially relevant to the development of Africa where global superpowers are all vying for geopolitical influence. The book is intended to provoke debate and conversations about development.
FROM POVERTY TO POWER "Provides penetrating analyses of more recent events, like the global financial crisis, the food crisis, and the Arab Spring. Well worth a read - or a re-read." Ha-Joon Chan
