This time we've got a talk from that clever chap known as @thattommyhall. He'll be giving a talk called JS == Scheme.
Afterwards, we'll be running a dojo. We'll be working through an example of how you might go about refactoring a small, OO program to a functional style. No prior experience with FP is needed for this part; we'll all be coming from different levels. Our goals here are to equip you with a more of an understanding of functional programming and it's real-world applications and to learn from each other. More than all that: to have some FP fun! There will be plenty of room to ask questions too.
Carlow House is close to Camden Town and Mornington Cresent tubes. For busses, get near to either and follow the walking directions. Also: tweet us if you're lost!
From Mornington Cresent tube: turn right out of the tube and walk up Camden High Street on the right-hand side. Turn left past the bright pink Age UK charity shop, and walk up the steps. Carlow house is the big office building on the right, with a reception. Go in and enjoy the FP fun!
From Camden Town tube: walk down the left side of Camden High Street away from the lock (you'll see a Pret/Coop - that way). Once you spot the Bright Pink Age UK charity shop, walk down the alley and up the steps. Carlow house is the big office building on the right, with a reception. Go in and enjoy the FP fun!
Once you've grabbed your ticket, don't forget to share your attendance on Lanyrd too: lanyrd.com/2013/funjs/
