Fundamentals of Entrepreneurial Finance

Wednesday, 13 November
7:45 – 9:15 pm

Before you can understand financial modelling and develop innovative accounting metrics and assess your minimum viable products, you need to understand the fundamental principles of finance.

This class provides a thorough introduction to the key finance reports used in all businesses. We'll go over key finance and accounting principles and help you to gain a deeper understanding of the practise of entrepreneurial finance.

After completing the 90-minute session, you will:

  • have insight into the financial condition of any business
  • know the difference between a balance sheet, an income statement and a cash flow statement
  • understand common performance indicators used to assess your balance sheet and cash flow statement
  • understand how to develop financial projections for pitch decks
  • keep track of cash burn and the need for funds and discuss funding terms and capitalisation structures with investors

This is a beginners class but may also be helpful wanting a refresher. We plan to run a more advanced class also.

Please bring a laptop with Excel installed.
