New History GCSEs – attend a free teacher network meeting with OCR’s History Subject Specialists
The focus of our Summer term regional network meeting will be on the reformed GCSEs (first teaching September 2016).
With significant changes to GCSE History coming in, the network meeting will provide an important opportunity to discuss planning issues for all aspects of the course and to get to grips with the new assessment styles. It will also be an early opportunity to get a look at, and to inform, the resources and support that will be available. The meeting will be facilitated by an OCR History Subject Specialist.
Uniquely, OCR offers two History GCSEs, History A: Explaining the Modern World, and History B which is in exclusive partnership with SHP. We'll be able to look at the differing demands and advantages of both GCSEs in our network meeting.
Although the focus will be on GCSE, our OCR History Subject Specialist will also be able to take any questions you may have about the new A Level, including information and guidance on the Y100 Coursework component.
The event will close with a tour of Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens. Refreshments will be provided.
Arrival and parking informationThe meeting will be in the Jack Crawford Room on the ground floor. Please report to museum reception on arrival. Please note that there is no on-site car parking. The closest pay and display car parks are Civic Centre or Tatham Street.
