Hack the Curriculum
hosted by #include
in partnership with the University of Warwick
9 November 2013 10.00 - 17.00
This is no ordinary hack - instead of creating a piece of software, the aim is to create resources for use in the teaching of Computer Science in the classroom.
Teachers, developers and academics will team up to tackle the new curriculum, sharing their expertise to produce interesting learning opportunities. We want to support diversity so the resources should aim to be inclusive for as many students as possible.
£8 per ticket including lunch and refreshments
|10.15||Welcome and explanation of the day - Laura Dixon and Carrie Anne Philbin|
|10.30||Keynote presentation - Anastasia Beaumont-Bott of TOTKO|
|10.45||Keynote presentation - Mark Dorling|
|11.15||Coffee and team organisation|
||Hack the Curriculum|
|16.00||Presentations and judging|
We look forward to seeing you. Please bring your own laptop or tablet.
Room details and directions will be confirmed via email nearer the event.
Why is there a ticket charge? Primarily because we want to ensure that people who sign up actually turn up to the event. You will receive lunch and refrehsments as part of the ticket cost and any leftover money will fund future #include events that will help teachers and students in the UK.
We are a group of teachers, academics and professionals who are passionate about giving students the opportunity to study Computing regardless of gender, race, socio-economic status, or disabilities.
In order to purchase these tickets in installments, you'll need an Eventbrite account. Log in or sign up for a free account to continue.
