Description

In a fun, collaborative setting participants will be introduced to the impressive capabilities of creative computation and will learn the fundamentals of computer programming within a visual context. They will be using Processing and Python, a powerful yet simple to learn programming language used by students, artists, designers, architects and hobbyists for learning, prototyping and production. Using this language participants will get to code visualisations and graphics on the screen, create simple animations and program their first interactive applications. Attendees should bring a laptop and they will be paired up with someone else as they work through playful programming tasks.

The instructors are lecturers in computing with many years experience in the creative industry. Towards the end of the workshop they will briefly introduce codezoners, a vocational course at Ravensbourne where young people learn to code while earning a salary.
