Happiness is Handwritten - The Joyful Letter Writing Salon
Tuesday, 21 May 2013 from 19:30 to 22:00 (BST)
London, United Kingdom
To celebrate National Letter Writing Day, we're hosting the Make Me Joyful Letter Writing Salon.
If you can't remember the last time you sent (or received) a proper letter and you're feeling the need for an evening of inspiration and pleasure as a break from the routine then come along.
Think piles of stationery, stamps and the chance to surprise a friend with some handwritten happiness. After all, there's nothing better than a proper letter peeping out amidst the bills and the pizza menus. And if you send a letter then you're bound to receive one too.
Your ticket includes:
And of course the Make Me Joyful tombola will be spinning so there’ll be more than a few special surprises too.
You'll leave knowing that there's a note winging its way to a loved one, having met some lovely new people and probably having had at least one cupcake too many. But, hey, that's no bad thing.
At Make Me Joyful we believe that life should be more than so-so. If you agree, gather your friends and come along for a very joyful evening.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Maison d'etre is located on Highbury Corner so it's across the roundabout from Highbury & Islington Station. This means that you can come on the Victoira Line and the Overground Line. There are many buses that stop close by and there are bike racks in front of the cafe.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
You can email email@example.com with wny questions and we'll be happy to help.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. If you can't make it for any reason then please pass on your ticket to a letter-loving friend.
Who should I write to?
Anyone! You can come with the address of a friend or loved one (remembering that postcodes are easy to track down on Google if you're unsure). Alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org to be matched to a pen-pal in advance. You can leave a random note of appreciation for a stranger, send a letter for charity (details available on the night) or even write to yourself.
I really like the sound of this, but my friends are letter haters and I'm not sure about coming on my own?
Letter haters? Are there such people? No, please come along anyway. There will be lovely new people to meet but if you'd prefer to just do your own thing you can squirrel away in a corner with some paper and a pen. It will be a very relaxed evening.
