Hillsong Evening College UK 2016/2017

Hillsong Evening College UK, run in conjunction with Hillsong Evening College in Sydney, Australia, offers a wide range of short, life-changing courses that are designed for people who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of the Bible. These courses are built to empower you to impact the world and to gain a greater theological knowledge in your Christian journey. Evening College is held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm in central London at the Dominion Theatre. Each module is individually paid for and will last 7 weeks. Refunds for purchased tickets are not permitted once the course has begun. The allocated tickets are not transferable to others once the session has started. Term three: Biblical Leadership and New Testament Theology

Summary of classes:

-New Testament Theology: An in-depth study of the New Testament, the origins/perspective of the four gospels and debunking mythologies surrounding biblical understanding. The course starts with an in-depth enquiry into the 400 years of silence, the socio-geographical and political world that Jesus was born into. It covers the understanding of prophecy fulfilment, pax Romana and the power of the early church in Acts. The course covers a range of theological challenges presented to Christians today.

-Biblical Leadership: this course is designed to assist people to in their workplace, family life and to understand how theology is applied in everyday principles of leadership. Looking carefully at the movements of evangelism, the importance of commitment, determination and in-depth analysis of leadership in the bible. A particular focus is on Paul and his capacity to alter and change his leadership styles. This course will provide you with the theological understanding and tools to enable you to make changes in your personal circumstances and bring impact into the areas of life of others. This is an extremely popular course as it challenges and tests the character of each student.

Term Four: Apologetics and Christian Doctrine and Pastoral Care

Dates: May- 10th, 17th, 24th and June- 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th. Price is £60.00 per ticket.

-Pastoral Care: this amazing new course is built with people in mind. This subject equips the student with the skills necessary to identify and effectively deal with pastoral care issues that arise in a ministry setting. These topics include: identifying issues, effective consultation and referral, overview of key pastoral issues, such as grief and loss, relational issues and crisis care. It will also help you think through the biblical and theological dimensions of caring for people so that you can grapple with many of the difficult issues that come up in pastoral ministry.

-Apologetics and Christian Doctrine:With the recent rise in pluralism and militant atheism, as Christian leaders we are often required to give a reasoned defence of our Christian faith. This subject gives you the background knowledge and arguing skills you’ll need to present the case for Jesus Christ in this post-modern world. You will develop an understanding of and a response to the key arguments used to challenge the Christian Gospel.
