Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland is part of the UK's largest and leading HIV and sexual health charity. Our vision is a world where people living with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.
We are offering free training for anyone working with individuals and groups in Angus who feel they would benefit from hearing more about the latest developments in the field of HIV and sexual health and/or how to challenge the stigma associated with HIV.
The session will aim to provide knowledge around these learning outcomes:
• HIV as a long term manageable condition
• Epidemiology of HIV in Tayside and the rest of Scotland
• An understanding of health inequalities around sexual health and the burden of sexual ill-health on some groups
• Current health promotion advice and guidance
• Importance of HIV testing and supporting people to get tested
• Stigma, prejudice and discrimination
• Support for people living with and affected by HIV
You absolutely do not have to be a 'professional' to attend the training. This training is open to volunteers, staff or interested members of the community. Please come along and learn what you can do to support people living with HIV and help us beat the stigma associated with it. We look forward to seeing you there!

We operate a £25 cancellation fee if you book a space but do not attend the workshop. This will be payable by invoice after the event, but will be waived if you email us at least five days prior to the course which will allow us to allocate your space to another person. We often have to operate a waiting list. If you would like a space but there are no available tickets left, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to express an interest; your name will then be added to the waiting list and a space offered to you after any cancellations.
